Township Clerk
The Clerk’s Office is open on Monday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and on Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Clerk maintains township records, manages election procedures, and helps ensure transparent governance.
May appoint a deputy
Names a backup to perform clerk tasks as needed.
Must post a surety bond
Provides financial security for the township in case of liability.
Maintains general ledger
Tracks all township financial transactions.
Keeps township ordinance book
Stores and organizes official local laws and regulations.
Prepares financial statements
Creates reports that summarize the township’s financial position.
Keeps the township book of oaths
Holds written pledges taken by township officials and employees.
Prepares warrants for township checks
Designates an individual to serve as assistant or backup to fulfill supervisor duties.
Chair of township elections commission
Designates an individual to serve as assistant or backup to fulfill supervisor duties.
Maintains custody of all township records
Designates an individual to serve as assistant or backup to fulfill supervisor duties.
Keeps voter registration file and conducts elections
Manages registration records and carries out election procedures.
Delivers tax certificates to supervisor and county clerk by September 30
Submits information on delinquent taxes and other relevant data by the deadline.
Publishes board meeting minutes (taxable value>$72 million, annually indexed)
Makes meeting records publicly available, as required for larger jurisdictions.
Records and maintains township meeting minutes
Captures discussions and decisions made in township meetings.
Responsible for regular and special meeting notices
Ensures the public is informed about all official meetings.
